Alabama

Guest Artist

Alabama's 2003 American Farewell tour marked the end of an era as country music's most celebrated band closed the chapter on an unprecedented success story.
It's an amazing career that spans more than three decades.  In the late '60s, cousins Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry discovered a common interest in music, and were later joined by Jeff Cook and Mark Herndon.
The band's hits add up to one of the lengthiest discographies in country music history.  With career sales in excess of 73 million records, Alabama ranks as one of the ten biggest-selling bands in history while charting more No. 1 records than any other band in country music.
Alabama was the first group in history to win the Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year Award, an honor the band claimed for three consecutive years (1982-84).  In addition, Alabama earned the Academy of Country Music's (ACM) Entertainer of the Year Award five consecutive years (1981-85).  The ACM named Alabama Artist of the Decade in 1989 and the Recording Industry of America designated Alabama Country Group of the Century in 1999.  During the ACM's 40th anniversary telecast in December 2005, Alabama was named the academy's most awarded artist.
In May 2002, Alabama stunned the world with the announcement of the group's retirement.   On Nov. 15, 2005, Alabama was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, an honor that truly cemented the band's place in the genre's rich history
